- Through a third-party CPA audit, iVision’s accounting system was deemed as an Acceptable Accounting System for flexibly priced type federal contracts. The audit determined that iVision’s accounting system successfully complies with all criteria of the Standard Form 1408 (Pre-Award Survey of Prospective Contractor Accounting System).
About an Acceptable Accounting System
FAR 16.301-3(a)3 requires a contractor to maintain an adequate accounting system for determining costs applicable to the contract. The major objective of this engagement is to obtain an understanding of the company’s accounting system to determine if the design of the system is capable to meet the criteria of the Standard Form 1408. The audit engagement procedures include a mix of inquiry of appropriate personnel, observation of the entity’s operations, and inspection of relevant documentation.
